Have them both compete on the Family Feud.
Have you ever spoken to an avid Wowowee and/or Eat Bulaga fan and asked them an unedited opinion about the other noon-time show? I ponder about this incessant "war" these shows have been continuing since Wowowee's premiere back in 2005. Both these shows' fans bitch and bitch about which show is better over and over again, ending friendships/relationships just because of it (yeah, end a friendship just because s/he likes the other show? Who the hell does that?!). When I went to my best friend's house one time, I heard the TV in their living room channelled on Wowowee, performing their hit "Do Do Do Da Da Da" while I was having lunch in their kitchen. So I checked up to see how things on the show were going, when my best friend's mom asked me some questions. She asked if I've ever watched Wowowee, understood what goes on in the show and even understood the language. I answered "yes" to all those questions. Then was the perfect time to ask her about their rival show, Eat Bulaga. Like every Wowowee fan, she answered with this:
"I don't like Eat Bulaga. It's so dry and boring; there's nothing exciting, anyway."
~my best friend's mom
Well my parents feel the same way, and I'm sure all Wowowee fans out there would agree as well. Wowowee hasn't lasted a decade, but it did suffer some pretty bad suspensions in the past (some are still pending on when to cast the suspension). Once Eat Bulaga secretly knows about this, they know it's time to lay the "kill."
So what is Eat Bulaga? It happens to be the longest running show in Philippine television (28 years and running). It mainly circulates on the genre of variety than the genre of game show. On the other hand, Wowowee also being variety, integrates elements of game show which is mostly done and played more than it's done on Eat Bulaga. Yet you ask what propel people to watch Eat Bulaga. I haven't met a lot of EB fans but here are some possible reasons why they like EB more than Wowowee:
(If there are any more reasons, let me know.)
I don't have the GMA network so I wouldn't really know. I however did see part of it. Yeah I was confused about what was going on and what they were doing on the show. I literally lost interest quickly, either I wasn't paying attention, I didn't understand why they do/say such thing and another possibility was the jokes/humor only appealed to you if you grew up in the Philippines, in other words, you'd understand if you knew the culture and customs there. As an American-born citizen, I would never know what they're trying to get at (for instance, one of the hosts would wear girl jeans and people find it funny but I don't). It's the longest running show but whatever. If the show works, fine with me.
But yet, this rivalry will never stop and admittingly enough I get terribly annoyed by it, especially people who say "yeah I won't be your friend unless you like the show that I like." So to settle this down, I decided to search a show where competitive groups of people compete to win big bucks. None was more popular than that classic game show:

That's when I realized what a great idea to have these two shows prove each other's incomparable excellence and compete against each other by correctly answering survey questions. Sure they can play and win money for charity, however they are there to prove which show is the show that should rule noon-time television. So we should see these on the Family Feud:

There you go: two competitive teams, only one winner. Each team would consist of each show's hosts and/or any sideline crew members who occasionally appear on camera. This will be the most original but amazing to test each show's wits (yes I was the one who came up with the idea). And since it'll be broadcasted on all Philippine networks, it would be okay to call it "Kapamilya Family Feud." Alright so who should win? Each show's are always in a see-saw race, meaning one day Eat Bulaga wins on one day by receiving the highest ratings then the next day Wowowee wins and so forth. Enough of that; LET THEM COMPETE ON FAMILY FEUD.
As popular as these shows are, it would be the pinnacle of Philippine television: a reign of competitive entertainment that rises beyond anyone's beliefs despite each show's popularity. Having this show with these two competing would be like the Superbowl to us. Of course, one broadcast wouldn't do (since the opposing team would strongly demand a rematch), so they'd compete in a "best of" series (best of 5 or 7). Whoever wins will be the ruler of noon-time television for eternity. Oh there will definitely be bragging rights to and fro. On the other hand for the sake of charity, I suggest a "bank-roll" round (refer to Family Feud fan sites for more info on that segment).
Just Wowowee and Eat Bulaga? Not really, you could have "ABS-CBN Manly Men vs. ABS-CBN Lovely Ladies", "Top ABS-CBN stars vs. Top GMA stars", "Comedians vs. Comediennes", or also Wowowee's and Eat Bulaga's trademark dancers:

As you may have guessed, the ASF are certainly flawless dancers hands down. But how about in a test of wit? Yeah a different story all together. Whether the other dance group is prettier, dances better, etc. have them compete on the Family Feud.
Lastly, if the networks really decided to adopt this idea of mine, that's when you realized why I tied my name with "great," hence my name "Kris The Great." Seriously.
So what do you think? Would this idea be a better way of judging who's better, after all the endless rivalries and the trash-talking each network has been throwing at each other for years, instead of reading their daily ratings? Tell me about it.
(Yes I created and drew these pics by myself, using Photoshop and Microsoft Paint.)
